How Is Your Short Game?

Tiger Woods attempted 566 putts last year that were three feet or less and made every one. That’s 566 and 0. That’s pretty good.

Is that what golfers call the short game? I admit, I golf less often than I fish, which is about once every 10 years.putting green.jpg

How does that apply to what you do? What is the short game in your profession? Is it closing deals? Is it getting interviews? Is it employee relations? Whatever it is, chances are it involves you getting up close and personal with another person, where that person can clearly see the whites of your eyes, can glimpse behind the mask, beyond the bluster.

You may fool some of them some of the time, but long-term, if what you present is more than what you really are, you are likely to fail, and you won’t be happy doing it. You can't fake putting.
