Our philosophies, as Jim Rohn says, govern our thinking, and of course, thinking controls our actions, and actions determine our success. For long-term success, in business relationships and in personal relationships, our actions must be based on sound principles and solid values. Our core character – who we are – sets us apart, and we thereby either attract or repel success.
The first of my three core philosophies is that, as Brian Tracy says, “the only reason to be in business is to create and keep customers.”
Second is that becoming is more important than earning. Jobs come and go, careers change, but you’re stuck with yourself for the duration. Developing proper aptitudes and attitudes is worth more in the long run than putting apples in your cupboard.
Third, and best of all, you can change your mind. All success is predicated on this one thought: you can do it differently next time. You can change what you do and who you are simply by changing how you think.
Everything here in coming months will be based on one of these three beliefs. I look forward to you being part of it. What do you think?
