The bathroom mirror is my favorite place for mottos and quotations. My first was “four point oh or don’t go” back in 1980 when I started college (after finishing high school in 1974 with a 1.9 GPA, which they tell me isn’t very good). On my mirror today I have three signs. Two are from the Bible, which has lots of useful advice, whatever your religious or spiritual persuasions.
“Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
You can draw your own sermons, but these two verses have changed how I think and what I choose to do.
Next is from Jim Rohn in “The Art Of Exceptional Living,” which I have listened to maybe 20 times.
“Earn all you can. Make all the friends you can. Read all the books you can. Develop as many skills as you can. See and do as much as possible. Make as much fortune as possible. Give as much of it away as possible. Strive for the maximum.”
Those are mine. What are yours, and where do you put them?
