The average person will take on 10 different jobs simply to gain the skills necessary for a career. Salary.com reports that seven of every 10 workers is looking for a different job, and that half of us are likely to make a switch after a year or two. The reason for this restlessness isn’t so much dissatisfaction with the current job, but a desire to acquire new skills to prepare us for future jobs.![]()
Which is exactly what Jim Rohn has said all along:
"Change takes more than enthusiasm. Discipline is the one big step. Get excited about your ability to do the necessary things to make a change. What can you do today to make a difference? There’s no telling. What will you do? There’s no telling.
"What we settle for often is disappointing. Remember, it’s not what you are getting at work, but what you are becoming. New habits come in small parts and pieces, one at a time, tiny nudges in the right direction. The good life comes from personal changes you make, not from outside sources.
"Translate your wishes into activity and discipline. Form new habits. You will go where your activity takes you."
