
The first step to changing your life is to change your mind. Every aspect of day-to-day living is based on your mind, on what you think. “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he” is what the scriptures say (Proverbs 23:7).
“A man becomes what he thinks about all day long” is
a more modern application, by Ralph Waldo Emerson. Our thoughts set the course for our lives. Every action and reaction is determined by our attitude, by our perspective, by our experience, by our decision-making process. By our minds.
One thing that helps what you think about is to make your car a “university on wheels.” Most Americans spend enough hours in their car every year to equal a university course. So turn off that oldies station sometimes and listen to talk recordings. Instructional, motivational, educational, inspirational: everything is available, and everything is valuable.
Capture good ideas. Write them down. Memorize them. Hang them on your wall or your bathroom mirror. Here is one I like:
