I like anticipation. I like the doing, too, but I like
the anticipation of going to a Cardinals game as much as the game itself. I like the anticipation of an Everly Brothers concert. I’ve seen them five times and each time gets better.
The day before an anticipated event is my favorite. The long part of the wait is over, the event is close enough to taste, and it is delicious to me. The 24 hours prior to the end of the show, the end of the game, the end of the day, those hours are all part of the event to me.
Of course, sometimes it happens that what you anticipate falls through at the last minute. Rain at the stadium postpones the game, or someone becomes ill and you have to put plans off until another day. There is some small disappointment in that, but it is brief, because all it really means is that you end up with twice as much anticipation. And if there is anything better than anticipation, it’s twice as much anticipation. So, to quote Bob Dylan, “when Quinn the Eskimo gets here….”

Yes, the Everly Brothers are great, especially live in concert
