What brought about your involvement with PETA?
I had always done animal cartoons, and most of them 
from the animals’ point of view. I guess growing up with two dogs will help with that.
One day PETA asked to reprint one, and it suddenly clicked, and I realized this is one small thing I can do to help. With two young kids keeping me very busy, it's hard for me to volunteer my time, but what I can do is volunteer my cartoons, so anything I do that PETA wants, I give to them gratis. Including color covers.
What they do in the service of animal rights is incredibly important, because really, it's so disheartening to discover what people will try to get away with when no one is watching. So while PETA's messages have to be very serious to get attention, it's my job help in a more humorous way.
