"Six words lie at the root of any business success: find a need and fill it," said Earl Nightingale. "The extent of success will be determined by the ability to fill a need and by the need’s importance.
Anytime we see a business that is thriving and successful we realize that it is filling a need. If it were not, it would stop thriving and close shop."
I joined a buddy in a business that made and sold children’s swings at craft shows. Children’s swings were nothing new, but these were made from old tires right when Reduce - Reuse - Recycle was in vogue. We also found that grandparents wanted to be heroes in front of their grandchildren. They needed it, and we made it possible. For a mere $50, they could be a hero to a grandchild, or two – it was hard to beat. We sold all we could make for a long time, and had a lot of fun doing it.
