There’s hope yet. The kids are watching a Looney Tunes video, and laughing. I wonder about these kids sometimes. They demonstrate such strange taste – such lack of taste – in their entertainment.![]()
Most of them read, which pleases me. Holes is a favorite, Harry Potter, of course, and Shel Silverstein. They also like Kodocha and other backward books. None of them have read my book, but most of them read my blog, so I guess that’s okay.
I am baffled by their choices in music. They were raised on the classics – Beatles, Dylan, Nilsson, Everly Brothers, Simon and Garfunkle, Monkees – but listen to who knows what now, people who likely will never be heard from again. I mean, Kelly Clarkson – how long could that last? What really baffles me, though, is that they listen to the radio, with those annoying "personalities" who prattle on and on about squat.
They don’t watch much television, I’m happy to say. If the TV is on, its mostly videos. It’s hard to understand how anyone could prefer the Olsen twins to the Marx Brothers, but they can’t get past the black and white thing. If it’s not in color, it can’t be good. Go figure.
