A guy I went to college with, an attorney, received an award recently, so I sent a quick e-mail with my compliments. He responded with an equally simple "remember the good ol’ days" and a question about how I was doing. Nothing surprising there, but he obviously used his work e-mail account, because following his 14-word response to me is a disclaimer about confidentiality and the attorney-client privilege.
The disclaimer is 138 words. I’m on my fifth time reading through it, and I’m still not sure just what the words mean. Apparently, had I received the e-mail in error, I would be required to delete it, erase my hard drive and throw a brick through my monitor, just to be safe.
