I am one of the nicest guys I know, kind, affable, sincere. But, I have many flaws, one too many, I’ve decided, so I am going to fix it.![]()
I resent the greeters at Wal-Mart. I don’t like them saying hello or good-bye to me and unless I am forced to walk very close to them, I rarely acknowledge them or respond. I don’t like them because their presence is a lie. They are not glad to see me. They are there to stop me from shoplifting. They are shrinkage control. Period.
But, I guess it’s not their fault, they are just doing their jobs. They don’t need yobs like me being rude to them. So, beginning today, I will look them in the eye when I come in. I will wave and nod, I will say hi, I will smile, and we all will feel better. I’ve been a yob long enough.

I am always nice to the people at the doors at walmart. I dont see the point in ignoring someone who says hello to me, even if they have to, and maybe even dont really want to. most people are rude to them so why not try to make them feel better by saying hello, smiling, and meaning it. If it is a store you go to offten you may see them regularly and build a little friendship. I know from working in customer service that as bad as the job is, it is always a little more bearable if people are nice to you.
