I had to call customer support for phone service at work. AT&T. I dreaded it. Those kind of calls usually can take days to complete, but I got lucky. A nice woman named Stephanie answered. Stephanie was bright, friendly, knowledgeable – even with my poor explanation of the problem, she knew what to check, what to look for. She soon told me that she would put me on hold while transferring me to technical support to fix the problem. The music while waiting was delightful, something with a flute.
A woman named Rita came on the line in about 48 seconds to say that she had fixed the problem, sure, swift and efficient, and that she would call all the phones in the office to be sure the fix went to each. Bingo! It was done.
So, AT&T, way to go. You made me glad to be alive. And isn't that what customer support should be?
