To be 70 years young is sometimes far more cheerful and hopeful than to be forty years old. Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr.
My mother just turned 70. I don't remember how she was 30 years ago, because I was just 20 and everyone looks old when you're 20. But she's always lived pretty young, walking, jogging, dancing. She takes care of herself. She told me yesterday that she doesn't think or feel too differently than she did when she was a girl.
But she is different. She's smarter. She's more confident. She's independent. If you're in business to sell something to my mother, or women like my mother, you better be honest, straight and prompt. You better know what you're talking about, and if you ever lie, even a little lie, you're done. Go on home.
