Here's a good one, and by good, I mean pretty much pathetic: Two guys – "business partners" – went door-to-door selling magazine subscriptions they never intended to deliver. For cover, to get the easy sympathy sell, they pretended to be students from either the University of Missouri-Columbia or Missouri State University.
Missouri Attorney General Jay Nixon's office received more than 60 complaints from victims across six Missouri counties. Under a court order from Nixon, the two sophisticated criminal masterminds must pay $11,500 in fines and restitution, and – they can no longer sell magazine subscriptions in the state.
Way to go, boys, way to go. We're all so proud of you.
