John - I shared this with my students today right after they requested periodic breaks in class so they could check World Cup scores. They give you a thumbs up!
Thank you, although I must say, my old football coach used a definition of thumbs up that was not as complimentary as I hope you are implying here.
It amazes me that a group of students would be that interested in the World Cup, which I admit still seems foreign to me. Aren't the NBA finals going on right now? And the NHL finals? I assume your students have not requested time off to watch those, which doesn't surprise me. I like hockey, although I understand that many people, at least in southwest Missouri, don’t get it. As for the NBA, the only difference I see between professional basketball and professional wrestling is the ball.
