"Material possessions aren’t inherently bad. A Mercedes 300 isn’t evil. It's the endless and constant pursuit of material possessions, and the belief that those possessions have the power to make you happy, that is problematic. You see, the more you have, the more you end up wanting. The pursuit of material possessions is like an addiction. Once you start, you can't stop." Steve Pollan and Mark Levine
Do you believe that's true, universally true?
Ever since mentioning that I don't own a DVD player, that's about all I've thought about. I feel cheated. I want to watch DVDs. I own two DVDs. I can check out DVDs from the library. There's a store near me where I can rent DVDs. I want a DVD player.
Of course, if I get one, I'll have to buy a lot more DVDs. I can't just watch You've Got Mail and Batman The Movie over and over. I'll need one of those DVD racks to store them. I can't have clutter. Speakers would be good, one of those surround-sound deals. Yeah. My TV is pretty small. I wonder what one of those big ones costs….
