Sigh, here we go again, another list of so-called top albums of all time. This one is from NME.com, which I assume use to be the
New Musical Express, and the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles & Albums. They took a poll of 40,000 people, 38,000 of whom live in the UK.
There was a poll of all-time top songs put on by a St. Louis radio station in 1978. Five of the top 10 tunes were by the Bee Gees, which tells you what I think of polls.
No list of top albums could be complete with out Nilsson Schmillson, The Rutles, Deceptive Bends, Bringing It All Back Home. Sure, Hotel California, Rumors, Band On The Run, Thriller are good and sold a lot of copies. But you can’t beat Harry Nilsson for listening pleasure.
For what it's worth, here are the top 20 from the NME.com list:
1. 'Definitely Maybe' - Oasis
2. 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band' - The Beatles
3. 'Revolver' - The Beatles
