From Dan Strutzel, AdvantEdge Magazine:
When scores of politicians, special interest groups, talking heads,
and economists are busy complaining, assigning blame, and making excuses, it is tempting to believe that our country has lost its edge and that things are teetering on the brink of chaos. Well, the reason why I'm so optimistic is because of a class of individuals who exist in America and to whom our future belongs: the entrepreneur.
It will be the entrepreneurs who will be largely responsible for rebuilding devastated cities. Entrepreneurs worldwide are currently working on new renewable energy sources that can liberate our country from our dependency on foreign oil. Entrepreneurs are operating businesses that develop vaccines that will eventually protect human beings from epidemics such as bird flu. And it is entrepreneurs who are trying to provide new alternate forms of education that will keep our population competitive and ready to address the challenges of a global economy.
Every day entrepreneurs are doing what they love by focusing their problem-solving talents on some of the great economic, health, and social ills of our day - for where there are the greatest problems, the profits from a solution are equally great.
