"Would you like a quick and easy way of determining your own sense of honor or that of your coworkers or employees? Simply answer this question: Who are your five favorite heroes or heroines? You can tell a lot about yourself or others by the answers you get."
So say Randy Pennington and Marc Bockmon in On My Honor, I Will. Chapter Two is a pretty good treatise on honor and how to tell whether you – and others – have it.
So, do it, right now, make your list. Write down your five favorites. Don’t think too long about it, just write them down, don’t worry about order. You can figure out why you picked who you picked later.
"Look at your list," say Pennington and Bockmon. "What does it reveal about yourself and your sense of honor and integrity? Do you try to emulate those you admire? Most people do."
Here are mine. Perhaps one day I’ll tell you why I picked these five.
My dad, Joseph Smith, Jim Rohn, Lou Brock, Mike Welch/Don Smillie
