
Well, the kid did it, traded a big red paper clip for a $45,000 house.
If you missed it, Kyle MacDonald swapped the paper clip online for something better and better and better, over and over, until at last MacDonald has become "the proud owner of a three-bedroom, 1,100-square-foot home provided by the town of Kipling, Saskatchewan."
Some items of note for which MacDonald traded include a recording contract, a year's rent in Phoenix, a paid speaking role in a Corbin Bernsen movie, and an afternoon with Alice Cooper.
So what does this teach us? How about, if you set a goal, no matter how outrageous, you can reach it. Yes. If you have fun, you will enjoy what you do and are more likely to succeed. Sure. And, if you can generate a little publicity, you can become famous for no particular reason. Of course.
