From Coming Up For Air by Beth Sawi:
Creating a balanced life requires challenging old rules and being willing to accept new notions that may or may not be comfortable to you.
Old Rule 1: Your boss and the responsibilities of your job control the number of hours you work.
Old Rule 2: If you spend more time on home life, you will have a less rewarding career.
Old Rule 3: Because there is never enough time, you are forced to neglect some things that are important.
These new notions may seem Pollyanna-ish at first, but people who have balanced lives know they are true.
New Notion 1: You choose how you spend your time.
New Notion 2: You can make choices that favor home life and still enjoy a rewarding career.
New Notion 3: You have enough time to do everything that is truly important to you.

I love reading what you write. My mind travels along the same lines as yours and it really is interesting that somewhere out there, someone has the words to my thinking, weird! -D2
