After 618 posts, it's time to focus, or refocus. I began with the premise that "the only reason to be in business is to create and keep customers." Of course, that line is from Brian Tracy, and I believe that. The best way to create and keep customers is to be ethical, to have integrity, to always live the highest values, to attract business with a true and honorable character.
My second premise was that being a well-rounded, whole and healthy person was an ethical business decision, that true business character includes more than business activity. Everything is related to business. Getting enough sleep, for example, eating well, spending time in lawful recreation, laughing. Long-term, those are as important as any business decision or activity. There are ethical business lessons in current events, good examples and bad. But there are business lessons – no less valid – in Bill Murray movies and Bob Greene books.
