Just read a Wall Street Journal article about a company called Rainforest Action Network, "a scrappy group of liberal activists" who harass and otherwise pick on CEOs of major companies they deem to be threats to the world environment. They do clever things like chain themselves to piles of wood at Home Depot and put up Wanted posters in neighborhoods where CEOs live.
They should be ashamed of themselves.
RAN now is attacking CEO Bill Ford of Ford Motor Company (F) because "targeting corporations is a far better way to achieve … policy goals than lobbying a dysfunctional government," and because "gasoline is the greatest cause of global warming and Ford… is the automaker with the worst, or near worst, fuel-efficiency record."
Why is it that people who latch on to these self-serving causes so often seem to put themselves above the society they proclaim to want to protect?
