"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
God has given us power. It is irresistible if we use it correctly. We are agents unto ourselves; we can think and act with certainty. We can proceed with confidence. We are authorized to act with wisdom.
God has given us the spirit of love. Love for Him, for our families, for our friends, for each other. Love for customers. Our work is more than a means to making money, it is an act of love. That’s the only reason I can see for all we put up with, why we continue to work so hard, sometimes without immediate rewards.
God has given us a sound mind. We can think, we can reason, we can learn. We have intelligence and wisdom. We don’t always know what to do, but we can figure it out, individually and together. We can use our minds to do good, because our minds are good. We can calculate risks and consequences, then act without fear.
