I just got a spam e-mail for Christians to borrow
money from other Christians. When I see anyone in business bragging about being Christian, trying to get business solely because they are Christian, I run run run. Why would anyone – any honest person - think that being a Christian makes them automatically trustworthy?
Some of the least honest, most perverted people I’ve ever worked with have professed to be Christian. I don’t mean to give Christians a bad name – I am one – but substituting your religion for substance is wrong. Stating you are Christian – or any religion, pick one – instead of demonstrating and possessing personal integrity is a big red flag to me. If you have to tell me how righteous you are, then I’m guessing you ain’t so righteous.
* The title of one of McCartney’s albums. I just like the phrase.
