From Lydia, pretending to be me:![]()
(Ha ha, you don't have to use this. It is corny and it makes you sound greedy. But I was just bored and remember you said ''if you’re bored, do something like blog.'' So I did.)
Just yesterday my family had a birthday party for me and my granddaughter. My daughter Lydia decorated the house, and it looked really good. My granddaughter is turning one. It was cute and fun to watch her laughing and enjoying her cake (which Lydia made). I am turning 50 and it was fun to watch me, too! =]
After the cake, everyone gave out presents. Brianne got five gifts and since no one knew that it was my party, too, I got two things (which were both edible). But Lydia promises to get me something when my birthday actually comes. But it's the thought that counts, right?
It was the Fourth of July, so after presents we went to Brianne's house and shot off fireworks. It was fun and a lot of funny things happened. When Lydia was lighting firecrackers, I threw a pebble to scare her and it landed in her shoe. She thought it was a firecracker, so she stated running on one foot while trying to kick off her shoe. We had a good day, and we made lots of memories.
So the lesson for today is, spend time with your kids while you still can. Especially if you're like me and way over the hill! Make some memories that you can cherish forever, before they move out and move on. Make your last years something special, and remember, your child’s favorite teacher…YOU.

very good blog Lydia!
