CNNMoney, owned by Time Warner Inc. (TWX), reports that in
New York City, it takes an income of $205,426 to replicate a $100,000 income. These numbers are gross salary, adjusted for cost of living experiences.
Second on the list was Los Angeles, where you would need to earn $156,106 to enjoy the buying power of $100,000 elsewhere. Chicago is next at $125,929, with Denver, pretty close to normal at $102,348, and Dallas, coming under the mark at $93,665.
Which makes Dallas look like a pretty good place to live, if you wouldn’t have to root for the Cowboys. No one should have to be subjected to that.
