"Do not try to live forever. You will not succeed." George Bernard Shaw
I don't want to live forever, I just want to live the next ten years really well. Tom Hanks and I turn 50 on Sunday. I don't know how Tom feels, but I am eager, I am happy. The next ten years will be my best decade, period, and I can't wait for all the good things that will happen. That shall happen, for all you teachers of English out there.
I just read this from Stephen Pollan and Mark Levine, It's All In Your Head:
If you think your life is half over, you'll spend the rest of it being miserable or trying desperately to regain your youth. If you think your career has peaked, you'll spend the rest of your working years chasing the past or doing nothing of consequence. If you think you've been a financial failure, you'll forever focus on what you lack rather than what you have. If you let time become your enemy, you'll spend the rest of your life either in the past or just waiting to die.
