Remember in 101 Dalmatians how excited and happy Pongo and Roger where when Purdy had the puppies? The maid kept running out, shouting higher numbers.
Pongo was thrilled with eight, then ten and eleven. He almost was overwhelmed with the joy of fourteen puppies. Watch the video. Then fifteen puppies. Fifteen! Absolute joy.
But then, the maid comes back out. "Fourteen. Only fourteen puppies." Watch Pongo's face fall. Moments before, he had been ecstatic with fourteen. Suddenly, the pain of having "only fourteen" was crushing, almost more than he could stand.
What caused the difference? Attitude, of course. Knowing he had lost something made the difference.
Not having what you used to have, or what you could have had, is misery. Don't settle for anything less than your best when you and I both know you could do better. You'll never be happy with less.
