
That’s the punch line to a cartoon by Randy Glasbergen, showing a guy begging on the street, those words written on his sign. "Please help," it says. The joke is comical, but unlikely. We fail for other reasons, often simply because we give up too soon, too easily.
Mark Twain said, "The miracle power that elevates the few is to be found in their industry, application and perseverance, under the promptings of a brave, determined spirit."
Determination and bravery and perseverance are important parts of being successful, but are all for naught if we fail to finish what we start. A restaurant near me has a sign that says "Closers Wanted," and I think that’s what most businesses need, someone who will finish the job, complete the task, fulfill the contract, close the deal, no matter what.
