Those who read here regularly will not be surprised that I have the Patricia Shultz calendar version of 1,000 Places To See Before You Die on my desk. I like to flip through it and read. "Oh, the places I'll go…."
So here's a trip I'm going to take. Start with an overnight flight to, say, Milan. I'd like to see Milan, then spend a couple of days in Florence, maybe see Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise. Then on to Rome, just to watch the traffic if nothing else. But there is plenty to see in Rome: the Colosseum, the Forum, the Pantheon. I'd like to visit Vatican City. I hear they have some art there.
And why not see Pompeii. I read about it in second grade, an it's not far away. Then Delphi and on to Athens. Maybe cruise the Greek isles for a few leisurely days. Then try to convince myself to come home. That would be fun: you know, go with some friends, with a friend. Why couldn't I do it?
