Well, I just did something stupid. I wrote tomorrow's posts at home, then decided to ride my bike to the office to queue them up for the morning. Sometimes my older computer at home makes the disks incompatible with my machine at work, so – just to be safe – I made a second copy of the files. It is a beautiful, cool summer evening where I live, and the ride over was pleasant.
I looked at the clock as I sat down at my desk, and figured that if I didn't waste any time, I could be done and out of here by 10, which was 10 minutes ago. But I didn't have the disks.
Now you're thinking I went and left them on my desk at home. I hope that is the worst that it is. Because it may be that I put the floppies in my shirt pocket – then changed to a lighter colored shirt for the dark ride over. Tell me that's not a sign of old age taking over.
