My daughter and her friend, both new drivers, were talking about driving too fast. They apparently had seen a speeding driver actually pass an ambulance that had its sirens on and lights flashing. The question they asked was, "how big of a hurry would you have to be in to pass an ambulance?"
Too big. That's the only answer. Too big of a hurry. Slow down. As Brian Tracy said, "Your attitude toward time, your 'time horizon,' has an enormous impact on your behavior and your choices. People who take a long view of their lives and careers always seem to make much better decisions about their time and activities than people who give very little thought to the future."

This one hits a nerve for me. I see people all the time continue driving as if nothing is happening, failing to yield to an ambulance. If you are in an ambulance, seconds count. Where is their compassion for those that are in need, need for their life? How would they feel if their daughter, son, mother or father was in that ambulance? Would it change the way they drove?
