But just a few hours with a language cassette will be well spent. Even if all you can say is hello, please and thank you in the language of the country you're visiting, the effort will be much appreciated.

And Some Airline Lingo

Remember this: nonstop means a direct flight with – as the name implies – no stops. Direct means that you'll have a stop, but won't need to change planes. A connecting flight requires a change of planes, and often a layover. A through flight is to be avoided if possible – it requires changing not only planes but airlines as well.
